I have a very similar bike to this I’ve done a 2008 reimagined kinda theme on. It’s a 2008 ironhorse freeride bike, over several years sourcing different wild parts it’s almost done soon. Maybe snowshoe this year, I live in WV.
It's getting hard finding old downhill parts but Ironhorse used to has some cool bikes. Good luck on your restoration!
@@AdrenalineIsLife thanks brother!
Use a old handlebar as leverage for tight bolts :)
Good scooter
Actually these product reviews on social media cannot be trusted because the manufacturer pays people to act as " social media influencers" to help promote the product. For example caroma gave this guy a free scooter to "review" in exchange for a positive review and endorsement of that scooter so naturally the person making this video is going to only point out the positive attributes of the scooter while ignoring the potential negatives. I keep seeing in product reviews on the caroma P1 scooter how everyone seems to be having difficulty with the brakes not working smoothly. I recently purchased that particular scooter and my brakes work flawlessly and smoothly. My only complaint is about the display on the handlebar not being the same as the one featured in the video, also my throttle grip is a full length twist grip rather than the half size twist grip shown in the video but aside from that the caroma P1 has proven to be an all around good product that I'm really pleased with so far. I'd definitely recommend it and most likely the P2 model being featured in this specific product review.
Love a cheap but rad build
@@chrisball8178 This is one of my favorites.
Enjoying my T6. A lot of little upgrades, but like you mentioned the biggest impact upgrades so far are faster/lighter tires and going tubeless.
The geo is attrocious.
This is the Caroma P2 scooter. The P1 has a very high rise non adjustable Bmx type handlebars and a static saddle with no post, just mounted on the frame. There’s also a P3 which sports larger rims and tires. We purchased a P1 a month ago and it arrived inoperable. Won’t power up. Caroma believes it is the S886 display/half twist throttle and told us they were sending and replacement over a month ago. We have called numerous times since and every time they seem nice and want to help but we are given some canned excuse and asked to wait a little longer. WTF Caroma!?!? Be aware of this company. Tread cautiously if at all!
Thanks for sharing your experience.
What was your time for the first race? 12 miles.
Is this bike park still up, I visited it and the trails are covered in rocks
No. Sadly, it failed.
What is the rider weight limit for the Xtrada 7? Would love to buy it as a beginner/starter MTB. I weigh a little over 300lbs.
If I recall correctly, about 245lbs
@@AdrenalineIsLife U think its fine for a 300lb person to ride this bike on road and light dirt?
@Saladon89 People have done it before. There is always additional wear and risk of damage that comes with the weight. The wheels are typically the weakest link on a heavy rider's bike. Make sure the wheels are trued and properly tensioned. Then check periodically.
@@AdrenalineIsLife Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to share ur expertise.
What do you think of the Superior XP929 lightweight Carbon hardtail in bikesonline for 1199.99. Im debating should I fork the extra $200 or go with the xtrada 7.
I wanted to do the same with a commencal meta ht frame and turn it into a dj bike . Single speed, 150-140 fork and a rear brake.
That would be a fun setup!
my entry level bike shop is always sold out on cheaper stuff
How is the aerial fork on the polygon xtrada 7?
It's a basic air fork. It's very similar to the Suntour XCR 32 air. Set the pressure for your weight and go ride. Those forks are rated for ebikes, so it should be durable.
I reduced the weight of my 29er by going single speed, and I have put some narrower tires, narrower handlebars, and that's it! Current weight? 10.95kg😅 My entire life I'm on the budget, can't afford anything light! My go to bike is my fixed gear (converted to single speed) bike, that weighs 7.7kg! I got nothing else,no 🚗 just 2 bikes, and a 1pair of legs😁 I enjoyed the video! Greetings from Croatia from Kris 😎
Quick correction regarding how I had the fork setup. I said 5 clicks of compression. That's not correct it was 3 clicks. 5 clicks is locked out. Regardless everyone will have a setting unique to them and their situation.
They go for €499 in the netherlands.
I highly doubt that
@@AdrenalineIsLife decatlon, go google it
@@AdrenalineIsLife You wrong
@@AdrenalineIsLife You actually already got one for € 270 but this is the same quality / build.
Thanks for your video. Can you tell us about any battery damage due to water's puddles or heavy rains? Should I try to avoid rain while using the scooter? Are there any scooters with battery in higher location? Many thanks in advance.
I would avoid any significant moisture. Typically, scooter manufacturers will mention an IPX rating on their products. I couldn't find one for this scooter. I'll contact Caroma about this. I'm curious to know myself.
This is the kind of man that rips tags off of a mattress
For general use yes but not on any trails
I noticed you put the more aggressive tire on the back when it’s typically the other way around why is that?
The Eliminator is optimized for the rear.
The tire that drives gets the tread common since
Nice!!!! Another way to improve skills!!!!
Great vid and journey! Yeah clipless is the way to go. Like your light hardtail setup. Maybe consider a specific training program leading up to next season. As much as I hate it. Indoor programs work. Also, highly suggest taking some skills courses under a BCIP or other instructor. It makes a difference. Learning to corner, riding drops, techy stuff helps. Great vid!
Thanks! A training program and some coaching are definitely needed.
My question with this is the wall thickness remaining in the seat tube. What is the OD diameter of the seat tube on the Trouvaille vs a standard mountain bike that accepts that style dropper post? Does reaming this out make it thinner than what we would see on a standard mountain bike, or closer to that spec?
I measured the wall thickness of the tubing, and it was thick enough that I could ream it out and have a wall thickness comparable to other bikes that I measured. That being said I don't know what grade of aluminum the bike is or anything about or how strong it is relative to other bikes. So I don't recommend doing this modification. It's safer to use a spacer with a 27.2 dropper.
Any upcoming videos about the C5 coming up? Planning to buy one, Thanks
Yes. I've got another C5 video in the works. Also, I have a couple other C5 related videos already out there if you haven't seen em.
I got a T7 this year. It’s been great!
They're awesome bikes!
Some of those Palos trails are undisguisable.
What's a Palos? 🤔
What frame size for someone who is 5’8”?
It depends on the bike.
any opinions on the norco fluid ht2?
I like almost everything about the HT2 except the fork. If you can get one at a discount, it'll be worth the money.
@@AdrenalineIsLife saw one for sale locally used like new listed for 500
@@AdrenalineIsLife what dont you like about the fork?
@blurryface1975 It's very basic but it's reliable. If you're not riding anything extreme it'll be fine.
can we get a 2024 version ?
Good idea!
wished all xc races were somewhat like time trialesque like you said.. no mass start🤪
They're a double edged sword. You have faster riders blowing past you and slower riders holding you up.
The only problem is the battery it’s impossible to find a 48v 7.8 ah battery that has the right measurements to fit. if anyone can help me that would be great
What forks shall I buy under $150 or £120
In that price range, I would say look for a used Fox or Rockshox fork. I don't trust any cheap forks found on Amazon or Aliexpress.
I just remembered. X Fusion RC32 can be found in your price range.
@@AdrenalineIsLife thanks for the help, appreciate it
Can you please provide exact part number you used for the end caps? I have been buying different caps to do this exact thing on that exact 370 hub, but they've ALL been just about 0.5 mm too wide to fit inside the driver body, so it gets pinched against the driver body and the wheel won't turn under pedal force (it will only coast).
I don't recall the part number. I may have a record of it some. What freehub body do you have? They are specific to the freehub
very nice and clean Bike. what can You say about durability of Michelin Pilot Pump 26 tires??
Thanks. The tires still look new but I don't ride the dirt jumper as often as I'd like.
Nice story. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching! 🙏
Those Title bars! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Can i do little stunts like wheelie , stoppie and some other basic stunts with this without braking it ?
Yes
I’m still learning but can I convert a quick release to a through axle on my Salsa Rangefinder Deore 11. 29”? The rear hub is Shimano MT200 Center Lock 10 x 141 mm quick-release
Your bike is designed for quick release, so thru axle is not at option.
@@AdrenalineIsLife thanks!
@@jedisentinel1499 you're welcome!
I will stick with my Kuat NV 2.0.
My buddy has one. He likes it a lot.
I really fed up about that industry trend that makes bikes bigger One of my friend is starting dj and 26” is already too big and long for her… finding good 24” part is a nightmare And at the end of the day we starting seeing 27,5” dj which no one ever asked and bring nothing except bad rotations and longer, slacker and more stable bikes which is exactly the opposite of what dirt jump is about
I agree. Unless you are a bigger rider, just getting started, 26 is plenty.
I bought one late May of 2024 for $128 on Clearance, figured it would be an interesting project and something I can take when I travel, so far I have upgraded the BB and Crank and added Hyd Brakes....so right now I am into my bike for $230....rather hard to beat it at this price. Update: I added a Rock Shock Judy air fork, an Bucklos headset and a used front boost wheel... Total into the bike is right at $391 and it rides great....fun bike and a fun build.
Solid deal!
All the bikes sounded good. They could be better with a larger front chainring. These bikes are set up to be climbers NOT cross country which in my opinion includes both. 2X would make any of these bikes awesome combined with a clutch IMHO Btw There is nothing wrong with 3X 😡 It gives you WAY MORE options than 1X and does wear out the chain faster😊
Oof!! I am not a fan of front derailleurs. I hate working on them. I hate the noise and flopping chains. I do appreciate their purpose when it comes to gearing and maintaining cadence. My gravel bike has a 2x and I probably will keep it that way. Despite my deep desire to convert it to 1x 😃
Just got it on $190 clearance at Walmart. Should suit my purpose on light gravel trails. Thx for thtle review.
They're getting harder to find these days. Enjoy!
